What you store in Plaintext
Your notes and uploaded files are stored with your workspace data. Note files remain Markdown-first so you can export and keep using them elsewhere.
Account and sign-in data
Plaintext stores account details needed for authentication, session management, and workspace access controls.
Billing data
If you upgrade, billing is handled by Stripe-hosted checkout and billing flows. Plaintext stores subscription status needed for storage and plan entitlements.
Public note links
Public links are unlisted and only available for notes you explicitly publish. You can unpublish or regenerate links at any time.
